Quedan cinco jornadas para finalizar el campeonato, y si hablamos hace tres semanas de que el Sandefjord tenia una opción, muy remota, de poder conseguir entrar en la Conference League, ahora, se puede convertir en un opción más que realista.
Se encuentra a ocho puntos del Tromsø IL, con un partido menos, el que tiene pendiente contra el Rosenborg el próximo miércoles 29 de octubre a las 21h. Su rival este fin de semana es el Fredrikstad que, en el partido de ida, ya les encajo un doloroso tres a uno y actualmente se encuentra una posición por debajo del sureño de noruega.
El Tromso IL se enfrenta al colista Haugesund. Partido que a priori debería de ser sencillo para el Tromso y conseguir la victoria. Lo que hay que tener en cuenta es que, en dos semanas, se enfrentan de manera directa y puede recortar hasta tres puntos mas y poner el picantón para el final de la liga.
El Sandefjord ya está haciendo una temporada histórica para la entidad. Su delantero Stefan Sigurdason, ha hecho historia siendo el primer jugador en alcanzar la friolera de 13 goles en una misma temporada. Y ahora, la entidad está a punto de alcanzar los 40 puntos e igualar su mejor puntuación en la Liga Eliteserien, que data de la temporada 2008-09, en la que acabo en 8ª posición.
Para ello, tendrá que ganar al Fredrikstad en el Jotun Arena. En el talismán azulino donde solo ha cedido tres victorias en doce encuentros disputados.
Este domingo, a las 17h, se vivirá un encuentro para la historia del club, y de soñar con esa fase de conference league para la temporada 2026/27. En la que ya adelanto que, si se logra, visitare tierras noruegas para vivirla con la afición del club.

There are five matchdays left before the end of the championship, and if, three weeks ago, we spoke about Sandefjord having a very remote chance of qualifying for the Conference League, now that possibility has become far more realistic.
They are eight points behind Tromsø IL, with one game in hand — the one they will play against Rosenborg next Wednesday, 29 October, at 9 p.m. Their opponents this weekend are Fredrikstad who, in the reverse fixture, inflicted a painful 3–1 defeat and are currently one place below the southern Norwegian side.
Tromsø IL face bottom-of-the-table Haugesund — a match that, on paper, should be straightforward for Tromsø and see them take all three points. However, it’s worth noting that in two weeks’ time, the two teams will meet head-to-head, giving Sandefjord a chance to close the gap by another three points and add extra spice to the end of the league campaign.
Sandefjord are already enjoying a historic season for the club. Their striker, Stefan Sigurdason, has made history by becoming the first player to reach an impressive 13 goals in a single season. The club is now on the verge of reaching 40 points, which would equal their best-ever tally in the Eliteserien, dating back to the 2008–09 season, when they finished in 8th place.
To achieve that, they’ll have to beat Fredrikstad at the Jotun Arena — their blue stronghold, where they have only conceded three defeats in twelve matches.
This Sunday at 5 p.m., the club will experience a match to remember — one that could keep the dream of reaching the Conference League phase for the 2026/27 season alive. And I’ll say it now: if they do make it, I’ll be travelling to Norway to experience it alongside the club’s supporters.
